V. Vale and Ed Hardy

May 5, 2015
Doors: 6 pm
Talk: 7–8 pm

Cultural historian, philosopher and artist Ed Hardy almost singlehandedly led the charge to upgrade the historical practice of “tattooing the human body” into an internationally recognized medium now legitimized by art galleries and museums. A graduate of the San Francisco Art Institute in the Sixties, Mr. Hardy will discuss his lifetime of research, insistence on continual artistic innovation, and anthropological book publishing, with V. Vale, the San Francisco publisher of Search & Destroy and RE/Search.
