On November 21st-23rd  choreographer, director, educator, and member of Yvonne Rainer’s Raindears Patricia Hoffbauer, will perform Para-Dice (Stage 2)” , a performative lecture presented at Danspace Project, New York.  This performance is  a continuation of “Para-Dice”, and is part of the Trajal Harrell-curated Platform “certain difficulties, certain joy” (2010). “Para-Dice (Stage 2)” navigates racial politics and colonialism, mixing original and borrowed texts and projections from the past, present, and future to investigate the meaning of cultural alterity. Through dance, performance, film, academic lecture, language, and anthropology, Hoffbauer considers ways bodies have been used to affirm fictonalized accounts of popular historical events. “Para-Dice” juxtaposes contrasting performance styles to present simultaneously different narrative perspectives.

The performances will occur on November 21st  through the 23nd, 2013, 8:00pm.
