There has always been a push to revitalize Mid Market (with 6th and Market at the center) over the decades but there has been a very large push recently through the arts and tech companies. The SFAQ office in the Tenderloin that shares a space with Ever Gold Gallery have both been trying to get something more DIY going with pop ups over the last two years and now the big boys are coming in. I hope that this works because as much as I like to see crazy crack smoking junkies and hearing fights outside of our office every day…I’m kinda over it. The Kenneth Rainin Foundation is helping out a lot with the Mid Market and Tenderloin push to make it an artistic and safe neighborhood and if you are not familiar with them, go to their website and find out a way to support this whole thing. It’s important to SF for many reasons.
